Job description – Electrical Project Engineer
- Lead the design and execution of electrical systems for projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, schedule, and budget, while maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the selection and procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare detailed electrical engineering calculations, including load analysis, circuit design, and power distribution.
- Manage on-site construction activities, providing technical guidance and support to contractors and subcontractors.
- Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and change orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize project management software to track project progress, report on key milestones, and manage budgets effectively.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
- Mentor and train junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and promoting professional development. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong foundation in power systems and circuit analysis.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project engineering, preferably in construction or industrial settings.
- Experience working on large-scale projects, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as NEC, IEC, and IEEE is essential.
- Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools, such as AutoCAD Electrical or ETAP.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements.
- A proactive approach to safety and quality, ensuring all work adheres to best practices and regulatory guidelines.
