Senior Marketing Executive – Kandy

Job Description: Senior Marketing Executive – Kandy

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Senior Marketing Executive to join our team in Kandy. This position calls for someone who understands both the strategy and day-to-day execution of marketing in a practical business setting. From developing campaigns to managing customer outreach and supporting sales efforts, this role will place you at the core of our business development initiatives.

You will work closely with both internal teams and external partners to coordinate activities that raise brand visibility, drive sales, and ensure consistent messaging across channels. We are not looking for theoretical marketing—this is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for planning, executing, and reviewing marketing initiatives while providing measurable results.

Position Summary:

The Senior Marketing Executive will be responsible for planning and implementing local and regional marketing campaigns, supporting digital activities, liaising with external vendors, and ensuring that all marketing efforts align with business goals. The ideal candidate will be familiar with market trends in Kandy and surrounding regions, able to create tailored strategies that resonate with our customer base, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities without losing sight of deadlines.

You will report directly to the Marketing Manager and collaborate with departments such as Sales, Product Development, and Customer Support to ensure that campaigns are timely, cost-effective, and relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Campaign Development and Execution

  • Plan and run both digital and traditional marketing campaigns based on business objectives.
  • Coordinate seasonal promotions, local events, and outreach programs.
  • Track campaign performance and prepare reports for review.

2. Brand and Content Management

  • Maintain consistent branding across all customer touchpoints.
  • Work with designers and content creators to develop promotional material.
  • Update marketing materials and ensure they remain accurate and relevant.

3. Market Research and Insights

  • Collect data on competitor activity, customer preferences, and regional market trends.
  • Use insights to support product positioning and pricing strategies.
  • Conduct customer feedback surveys to assess service quality and branding impact.

4. Digital Marketing

  • Support social media content planning, posting schedules, and paid advertising.
  • Work with agencies or internal teams on website maintenance, SEO, and email marketing.
  • Analyze online performance metrics and suggest improvements.

5. Sales Support

  • Provide marketing materials and promotional assistance to the sales team.
  • Attend client meetings when necessary to understand customer needs.
  • Coordinate BTL (below-the-line) marketing such as leafleting, in-store branding, and dealer promotions.

6. Event and Vendor Coordination

  • Plan and manage marketing-related events, including sponsorships, product launches, and corporate functions.
  • Liaise with external suppliers for printing, signage, and merchandise.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in marketing or brand management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala. Tamil would be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics).
  • Good understanding of both digital and offline marketing techniques.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Based in Kandy or nearby areas with solid awareness of local consumer behavior.
  • Practical thinker who is capable of independently managing projects from start to finish.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment while maintaining ownership of tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time across multiple projects.
  • Eye for detail when preparing visual content, reports, and documentation.

Work Conditions:

  • Office-based role in Kandy, with occasional travel within the Central Province for events or market visits.
  • Standard work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Occasional weekend work may be required during campaigns or events.
  • Collaborative work environment with opportunities to engage across departments.
  • Tools and resources provided include laptop, travel allowance (if applicable), and mobile data support.

What We Expect From You:

  • Ability to manage day-to-day tasks while also thinking ahead and planning for long-term campaigns.
  • Proactive communication—keeping managers informed, updating progress, and seeking feedback when needed.
  • Reliability when it comes to deadlines, follow-ups, and accountability for assigned tasks.
  • A grounded, respectful approach to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Willingness to learn from both successes and setbacks.

What You Can Expect From Us:

  • A stable and supportive working environment that values consistency and clear performance.
  • Exposure to both strategic and operational sides of business marketing.
  • Guidance and support from a management team that values practical contributions over inflated jargon.
  • Opportunities to grow into team leadership or management roles based on proven ability.
  • Recognition for performance, not just personality.

Who Should Apply:

You are encouraged to apply if:

  • You are currently working in a similar role and are looking for a position with broader responsibility.
  • You have worked in marketing in the Central Province and understand how to engage regional audiences.
  • You have a track record of managing campaigns with measurable outcomes.
  • You are practical, organized, and can communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders.
  • You are not looking for shortcuts but are willing to do the work and see the results.

You should not apply if:

  • You are uncomfortable managing multiple priorities and working with minimal supervision.
  • You lack familiarity with real-world marketing tools and workflows.
  • You prefer working only on creative ideas without tracking their results or business impact.

Application Process:

To apply, please submit the following:

  1. Your updated CV highlighting relevant experience.
  2. A cover letter explaining why you’re interested in this role and how your background fits the expectations.
  3. Any examples of past marketing work (e.g., campaign summaries, digital materials, event participation).
  4. Contact details for at least one professional reference.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a face-to-face interview at our Kandy office. A short assignment may be given to assess your marketing planning and communication skills.
