Job Overview
Nibras International School is looking for a qualified Teaching Assistant and bus monitor to join the school as soon as possible.
Job Purpose:
We are committed to ensuring the safety and proper supervision of children at all times. Our school aims to provide enjoyable and meaningful learning experiences, enabling every pupil to make progress.
A teacher assistant supports the teacher in educating children. They handle tasks that free the teacher to focus on the learning agenda, providing human support and paraprofessional work.
Key Qualities and Skills:
• General knowledge of classroom teaching practices, methods, and techniques
• Effective communication with students and teachers
• Skillful use of classroom and instructional equipment
• Establishing effective working relationships with teachers, parents, and students
• Important skills: Enthusiasm, imagination, energy, adaptability, patience, and responsibility
Key Duties:
• Organizing project materials, setting up audio equipment, and tracking attendance
• Maintaining classroom supplies and helping children retrieve materials, clean-up workspaces, and gather belongings
• Collecting and displaying suitable material for educational displays and decorating classrooms and corridors
• Supervising snack and other related duties
• Assisting the classroom teacher and accepting assigned duties in support of teaching and learning
• Performing office assistance tasks, such as photocopying, filing, answering the telephone, etc.
Health and Safety:
• Taking necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct
• Maintaining awareness of health and safety measures in the classrooms
• Ensuring students are seated and belted during bus travel
• Assisting in handing over students to authorized adults when dropping them home
Bus Attendant:
• Monitoring students and maintaining order on the bus
• Ensuring the safety of each student at all times
• Checking attendance and informing the teacher/parent about any absences
• Ensuring all seats are empty and students left the bus at the end of each trip
