Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Senior Financial Accountant based in National Industries Park, Dubai at GLS International Trading LLC. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage Accounts Receivable (Debtors) and Accounts Payable (Creditors), ensuring accurate reconciliation and timely settlements.
• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping and transactional accounting in MBC accounting software.
• Handle VAT return submissions through the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) portal, ensuring accuracy and timely compliance.
• Prepare and file Corporate Tax returns in accordance with UAE tax laws and regulations.
• Lead the coordination and execution of external and internal audits, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with auditors.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UAE tax and regulatory developments, including Corporate Tax, ESR, and UBO compliance.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing for all government submissions, including MOF, FTA, and other applicable authorities.
• Support monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, assist in forecasting and budgeting, and provide variance analysis and financial insight to senior management.
• Maintain internal controls and financial policies in line with regulatory compliance and operational best practices.
• Liaise with banks, government bodies, and external consultants on financial and regulatory matters.
• Support the management team with ad hoc financial analysis, board reports, and investment proposals.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a senior financial accounting role, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong working knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations and government portal filings (FTA, MOF, etc.).
• Proficiency in MBC accounting software is highly preferred.
• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communicator, able to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
