Relationship Manager – Project Finance

Job Role

The selected candidate will be required to effectively manage a corporate portfolio of project finance relationships. You will focus on growing the portfolio and its overall profitability while maintaining excellent asset quality and maximizing returns for the Bank.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Portfolio & Growth Management: Manage the Bank’s existing project finance portfolio while evaluating, structuring, and executing new credit proposals to grow the project lending business.

  • Monitoring & Recovery: Perform robust post-disbursement monitoring of facilities through periodic customer and site visits to ensure timely recovery and maintain asset quality.

  • Business Development: Identify and secure new project financing opportunities within existing and prospective client bases (including off-shore opportunities) to establish the Bank as the preferred financial partner.

  • Loan Syndication: Coordinate with external lenders to structure and arrange loan syndications and co-financing agreements.

  • Risk Management: Monitor early warning risk signals proactively and take prudent measures to preserve portfolio health.

  • Cross-Selling: Cross-sell the Bank’s diverse suite of products and services to maximize alternative income generation.

  • Compliance: Stay up to date with, and adhere strictly to, the Bank’s internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Educational Qualifications

  • A Degree from a recognized university, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or an equivalent professional qualification.

  • An MBA or a specialized qualification in project financing will be considered a distinct advantage.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the banking or finance industry.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience serving in the capacity of a Relationship Manager – Project Finance, backed by sound, practical knowledge in structuring complex credit proposals.

  • Strong, deep-rooted understanding of project lending and project structures.

  • Excellent credit analysis skills with the ability to analyze, evaluate, and make decisions independently.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Proven relationship management, strong networking capabilities, and high-level PR skills.
