Job Title: Instructor – Aviation Maintenance (AH-64E)

Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience (tax free)

Location: Abu Dhabi

We currently have a vacancy to join a leading provider of comprehensive aviation services based in the Middle East, as Instructor – Aviation Maintenance (AH-64E) role.The role will be based in Abu Dhabi and offers a full relocation package for the successful candidate.

The company specialises in delivering customised aviation maintenance, repair, overhaul, logistics and supply chain services to military and civil aviation customers across the region. Whilst their head office is based in Abu Dhabi, they have a number of operational facilities across various UAE military bases and aviation sites. The company plays a key role in supporting the UAE Armed Forces and other regional air forces. They support a wide range of both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft including military helicopters such as Black Hawks, Chinooks and Apaches as well as transport aircraft such as C130 Hercules. Their services include line and base maintenance, avionics, airframe and engine repair and comprehensive logistical support.

The Instructor – Aviation Maintenance (AH-64E) will conduct and assist in the development of maintenance training programs to enhance the skills of trainees. The instructor will provide platform and other instruction, assess trainees, and offer remedial training when necessary. Additionally, the instructor will review and amend course material to ensure training effectiveness. They will also maintain records of training activities and student attendance.

Main Responsibilities:
• Deliver instruction on aircraft maintenance basics, safety protocols, inspection procedures, technical publications, aircraft systems and components, aviation regulations, and other relevant topics.
• Collaborate with course developers by offering essential technical information and guidance.
• Review, contribute to the development of, and/or modify courses using a systems approach such as SAT or ADDIE.
• Create program syllabi outlining maintenance courses designed to equip employees with the necessary skills to perform aircraft maintenance.
• Plan and tailor classes to cater to trainees with varying levels of subject matter knowledge.
• Conduct required classroom and platform instruction to ensure learning is progressive and effective.
• Perform intermediate and final assessments to measure the extent of learning and document each assessment for accountability and to identify any potential barriers to training.
• Analyse assessment reports and course evaluations to modify training courses as needed to enhance training effectiveness.
• Maintain classroom discipline and facilitate an effective learning environment.
• Ensure general housekeeping for all assigned areas is maintained.
• Keep accurate trainee records and collaborate with other instructors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Training Supervisor or Manager.

About You:
• Bachelor’s degree in an aircraft maintenance discipline, such as Airframe/Powerplant or Aircraft Maintenance technology, is highly desirable.
• A civilian aircraft maintenance license or certificate (e.g., Mechanical A&P certificate or B1 license) is preferred. Completion of OEM-approved courses, AH-64 Repairer, or equivalent military role with proven experience is also valuable.
• An instructional techniques certificate or ‘Train-the-Trainer’ certification/acceptance/approval by a civilian or military agency/organization is highly desirable.
• Experience working with military aviation units is preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience in training methodologies and management using a systems approach like Instructional Systems Design (ISD), the ADDIE model, or SAT familiarity is highly desirable.
• Experience using Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and maintenance tracking systems like ULLS-A, GCSS-Army, or similar systems is beneficial.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English proficiently.
• Strong communication skills are required, with the ability to foster teamwork and lead by example.
• The candidate should demonstrate the ability to deliver clear and direct communication to flight crews and ground operations in high-stress situations.
• Must possess the ability to work effectively across diverse cultural environments.
• Strong leadership qualities are essential, with the ability to delegate and motivate team members.
• Must be able to collaborate effectively with other departments and teams.
