Job description – HSEO / Safety Officer

Job Title: HSEO / Safety Officer with Construction Experience
Location: Sharjah
Employment Type: Full Tiime
Required Experience: Minimum years in Construction Field

Job Summary:
We are seeking an HSEO / Safety Officer with experience in the construction industry to ensure compliance with safety regulations, minimize workplace hazards, and promote a culture of safety on-site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, risk assessment, and incident prevention.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to minimize risks.
• Develop and enforce safety procedures, guidelines, and policies.
• Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for workers and staff.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing reports and recommendations for preventive measures.
• Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on-site.
• Maintain records of safety audits, inspections, and compliance reports.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as an HSEO / Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, DOLE-COSH).
• In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to handle safety-related emergencies effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report preparation.
