As we extend our footprint into new cross-border ventures, we are looking for a strategic-minded Executive – International Business Development to join our Colombo-based team. This role is designed for a professional who excels at research-driven growth and is ready to support high-impact projects that define our international trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Research Support • Support international business development initiatives across multiple KIU Group companies • Conduct in-depth market research, country analysis, competitor analysis, and regulatory reviews • Identify and evaluate new international markets, partnerships, and expansion pathways • Prepare feasibility studies, opportunity assessments, and strategic reports for management review • Track global industry trends, policy changes, and international market risks

Leadership & Project Support • Provide direct assistance to senior leadership on priority international initiatives • Support planning and execution of new business concepts, pilot projects, and expansion initiatives • Assist in preparing presentations, concept notes, proposals, business cases, and briefing documents • Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, academics, operations, recruitment, finance, leadership) • Maintain structured documentation, trackers, and follow-up mechanisms for leadership review

Coordination & Execution • Support internal and external meetings, including preparation of agendas, notes, and action trackers • Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely execution of assigned tasks • Handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and accountability across assigned responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

• Experience or strong exposure to international business development, market research, or strategic analysis • Excellent research, analytical, and report-writing skills • Ability to translate research insights into clear, decision-ready business recommendations • Strong documentation and presentation skills (reports, proposals, presentations) • High level of reliability, ownership, discretion, and attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations, Economics, Management, or a related field • Prior exposure to education, international trade, consulting, or global projects is an advantage • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) • A self-driven professional with a strategic mindset and strong execution capability
