Job description – Draftsman

Specialism:
Engineering / Civil / Mechanical
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Draftsman to prepare detailed drawings and layouts for instrumentation and control systems used in industrial and infrastructure projects. The role involves producing accurate diagrams, cable routing, and instrumentation layouts while coordinating with engineers and other disciplines to ensure compliance with project standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare 2D drawings for instrumentation layouts, cable routing, loop diagrams, and wiring schedules.
Assist in the development of P&IDs and instrument index updates.
Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy and project compliance.
Revise drawings based on markups, redlines, or design modifications.
Ensure alignment with project standards, specifications, and industry codes.
Organize and maintain documentation, file versions, and drawing logs.
Support as-built documentation and final submission packages.
Qualifications
Diploma or ITI in Instrumentation, Drafting, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of drafting experience in instrumentation/control systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SmartPlant Instrumentation or Revit is an advantage.
Good understanding of loop drawings, termination details, and control panel layouts.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ISA, IEC, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
Ability to interpret P&IDs and technical specifications.
