Job description – Deputy Director, Government & Partnership

Our client is seeking a strategic leader to align corporate execution with Singapore’s national energy ambitions, shape cross-border policy frameworks, and anticipate regulatory, financial, and geopolitical risks. This role will serve as the organisation’s policy radar translating complexity into clarity, ensuring gold-standard compliance across jurisdictions, and representing the organisation in high-level stakeholder engagements. The ideal candidate will bring deep policy insight, strong analytical and relationship-building skills, and a bold, forward-looking approach to advancing Singapore’s cross-border electricity trade.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Align business with national purpose: Develop the organisation’s strategy and performance metrics to align with Singapore’s policy goals. Help translate national ambition into corporate execution.
• Influence cross-border energy policy: Build trusted relationships with Singapore and foreign government stakeholders to understand their policy priorities and shape the frameworks that will enable cross-border projects to succeed.
• Be the organisation’s policy radar: Monitor regulatory changes and global policy developments across energy, environment, security, and finance that could impact operations. Turn complexity into clarity and provide forward-looking policy intelligence to the leadership team.
• Represent the organisation on the big stage: Champion the organisation’s interests in regulatory consultations, stakeholder forums, and government briefings. Help influence the frameworks that will define Singapore’s cross-border electricity trade.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
• Education in Economics, Public Policy or a related field.
• Experience in government policy and risk management, ideally within the energy sector.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and policy development processes.
• Strong writing, excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyse complex policy and risk issues and their implications
• Able to travel and be based overseas for up to a week at a time when required.
