Role Overview

The Department Head of Digital Solutions & Technology will lead the strategic and operational direction of Doha Bank’s digital transformation initiatives. This role encompasses oversight of Business Solutions, Enterprise Architecture, Digital Technology, and Applications Testing. The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders to identify technology opportunities, design customer-centric digital solutions, and drive enterprise-wide efficiency, risk reduction, and performance enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
• Shape and align the department’s strategy with DS&IT and organizational goals.
• Support the CDIO in defining digital transformation objectives and performance metrics.
• Lead budget planning and ensure financial compliance across digital initiatives.
• Represent the bank at external forums to promote digital innovation.

Operational Excellence
• Develop and enforce policies for efficient digital operations.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable enterprise architecture and digital solutions.
• Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities and deploy impactful technologies.
• Oversee data analytics, visualization, and reporting to support decision-making.
• Ensure robust testing, quality assurance, and lifecycle management of digital applications.
• Monitor KPIs and recommend improvements for digital products and services.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and regulatory changes.

Innovation & Transformation
• Promote a culture of digital innovation across the organization.
• Guide the development of prototypes and user-centric designs.
• Evaluate FinTech partnerships and ensure alignment with business strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement in data management, integration, and security.

Governance & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to audit, compliance, and governance standards.
• Collaborate with Risk Management to assess and mitigate departmental risks.
• Provide timely information to auditors and compliance teams.

People Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop departmental staff.
• Support recruitment, performance reviews, and career development.
• Work with HR to address performance issues and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree in Management or Technology is preferred.

Experience:
• 15–20 years in banking/financial services with relevant digital leadership experience.
• Proven track record in digital transformation, enterprise architecture, and program management.

Technical & Industry Competencies
• Expertise in digital trends, programming, data analytics, and visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, IT systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with FinTech solutions, automation, and Agile methodologies.
• Certifications such as PMP/Prince2 and digital landscape credentials are advantageous.
