Our client is looking for a Category Specialist to join the dynamic Procurement & Supply Chain team. What You’ll Do
Manage assigned procurement categories(e.g., piping, electrical, mechanical, or services) across major oil & gas and industrial projects.
Develop and implement category strategies that optimize cost, ensure supply security, and improve vendor performance.
Lead RFQs, commercial evaluations, negotiations , and contract awards in line with procurement procedures.
Collaborate closely with project, engineering, and planning teams to forecast demand and align sourcing plans with project schedules.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
Monitor market trends, price movements, and risks to proactively manage supply challenges.
Ensure compliance with all QHSE, contractual, and corporate governance standards.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Instrument / Electrical / Civil Engineering.
8-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain in refinery or petrochemical Oil and Gas plant.
Deep understanding of category management principles , cost drivers, and market dynamics.
Strong negotiation, commercial, and contract management skills.
Experience working with ERP systems(SAP or equivalent).
High level of attention to detail , analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Middle East / Gulf experience will be an added advantage.
