Job Description: Executive, Warehouse – Gampaha
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to take on the role of Warehouse Executive at our Gampaha warehouse facility. The position is central to our operations and requires someone who can balance efficiency with accuracy. As a Warehouse Executive, your primary duty will be to oversee and manage the daily warehouse functions—ensuring inventory is properly received, stored, and dispatched.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the importance of well-organized inventory systems and timely coordination with procurement, delivery, and operations teams. We are not looking for someone to sit behind a desk all day; we are looking for someone who understands that effective warehousing impacts every part of the supply chain.
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Executive will support the Warehouse Manager in coordinating all aspects of warehouse operations. This includes inventory management, order processing, goods receiving, and dispatch planning. The right candidate will be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, complying with safety protocols, and ensuring smooth flow of materials in and out of the warehouse.
You must be familiar with warehouse software systems and capable of working under pressure during peak periods. This is a role that blends physical supervision with record-keeping and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management
- Monitor and update inventory records accurately using internal software.
- Conduct routine physical stock counts and reconcile with system reports.
- Investigate discrepancies and report findings to the Warehouse Manager.
- Receiving and Inspection
- Supervise receipt of incoming goods; ensure correct quantities and quality.
- Verify delivery documentation (GRNs, invoices, etc.) and report damage or loss.
- Coordinate unloading and proper placement of stock in storage areas.
- Order Fulfillment
- Pick, pack, and prepare goods for dispatch as per order requirements.
- Ensure orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with transport teams for smooth deliveries.
- System Updates & Documentation
- Maintain digital and physical records of stock movement.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS/ERP) for data entry and reporting.
- Generate periodic reports for review by management.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all activities comply with safety and hygiene regulations.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
- Oversee storage conditions, particularly for perishable or sensitive goods.
- Team Coordination
- Guide warehouse assistants and support staff in daily tasks.
- Provide on-site training to new workers as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other departments such as Procurement, Sales, and Finance.
Required Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in warehouse operations or inventory control.
- Proficient in warehouse or inventory software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).
- Familiar with MS Excel and basic data entry/reporting.
- Good command of English and Sinhala (Tamil is a plus).
- Physically fit and capable of supervising in an active warehouse environment.

Work Conditions:
- Based at the warehouse facility in Gampaha.
- Standard working hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Occasional extended hours during stock-taking or peak delivery periods.
- Requires standing, walking, and lifting items on occasion (appropriate PPE will be provided).
- Indoor warehouse environment; occasional visits to supplier or client sites may be required.
