About the Role

We are hiring a Field Service Technician who will work hands-on in assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining precision automation machinery. The role is based out of Jaffna with the opportunity to support field operations in Japan. You will collaborate closely with engineering and design teams, providing both onsite technical support and customer service.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about automation, skilled in both mechanical and electrical systems, and committed to continuous learning and field excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble automation equipment based on engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot semiconductor machinery both in-house and at customer sites.
  • Conduct performance tests and quality inspections on completed systems.
  • Provide first-level technical support and escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Offer feedback to the design team to improve assembly workflows and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain proper housekeeping standards in the work area.
  • Manage inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies.
  • Travel to customer locations, including Japan, for field support assignments.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all technical activities and client interactions.
  • Participate in safety drills, adhere to company protocols, and remain on standby when required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in a technical or engineering support role is an advantage (internships or hands-on projects count).
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, control circuits, or machinery assembly.
  • Proficient in using technical tools, equipment, and relevant software.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently or in team environments.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours including weekends or on-call duties.
