Job description – General Accountant
Job Title: General Accountant
Location: Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to manage and oversee daily accounting activities, maintain financial records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
• Monitor daily accounting activities and ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage VAT filing and other statutory compliance related to accounting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and payroll.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve financial processes.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a General Accountant or similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
• Experience working in companies located in Mussafah or Abu Dhabi region.
• Knowledge of local labor laws and regulatory requirements.
