Company Name: Mintpay

Job Location: Colombo

About Mintpay

Mintpay is revolutionising the Sri Lankan financial industry by reimagining how payments are done. Launched in 2020 as Sri Lanka’s first “Buy Now, Pay Later” (BNPL) payment facility, Mintpay has since grown into a dynamic fintech group. We offer a versatile suite of payment products, including Pay Now and Pay Later, which give customers total flexibility over how they pay while rewarding them for every transaction.

As we continue to build seamless payment experiences and expand our product portfolio and footprint, Mintpay aims to become the region’s preferred way to pay. We’re looking for passionate, driven, and ambitious individuals to join our team, challenge traditional payment frameworks, and help us build the future of fintech.

The Opportunity

As our Manager – Finance, you will lead the core Finance function across the Mintpay Group. This senior, high-visibility role takes full ownership of group-level financial strategy, consolidated reporting, and high-level stakeholder engagement with our Board and investors. Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will shape the financial direction of a fast-growing fintech group operating multiple products and entities.

This position is ideal for someone ready to step beyond routine day-to-day accounting into strategic financial leadership—building the systems, robust controls, and reporting infrastructure a multi-entity fintech group needs as it scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidated Financials: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated Group financial statements across all Mintpay entities and product lines.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present financial performance, projections, and strategic insights to the Board of Directors, shareholders, and investors with clarity and commercial confidence.

  • FP&A & Budgeting: Own the Group’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes, partnering with Product, Marketing, Ops, and Tech to align financial targets with business strategy.

  • Process Optimisation: Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for finance and accounting, drawing on global fintech and payment industry best practices.

  • Financial Operations: Oversee transaction processing, merchant reconciliations, statutory compliance, taxation, treasury, and external audit relationships.

  • Risk & Capital Management: Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks across the Group, advising leadership on capital allocation, credit exposure, and product unit economics.

  • Investor Relations: Support fundraising efforts, including financial modelling, data room management, due diligence, and direct investor communications.

  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and scale the internal Finance team, setting performance standards as the function grows alongside the business.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–8 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or BPO, with a proven track record of handling high-volume transaction environments.

  • Qualifications: Full qualification in CIMA, ACCA, or CA, or a Degree in Accounting & Finance (a combination of professional and academic qualifications is highly valued).

  • Consolidation & Stakeholders: Direct experience preparing consolidated statements for multi-entity structures and a proven track record of presenting to Boards or investors.

  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of IFRS / SLFRS, corporate internal controls, and risk management frameworks.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong commercial mindset with advanced data analysis, forecasting, and financial modelling capabilities.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, with the skill to translate financial complexity into actionable insights for non-finance audiences.

  • Mindset: An agile problem-solver who can operate independently in a fast-moving environment and who shares a genuine passion for fintech.
