Plant Manager – Malwana, Sri Lanka

The Role

We are seeking a high-caliber Plant Manager to lead our Sri Lanka manufacturing site. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the fulfillment of all customer contracts, ensuring the site meets rigorous quality, cost, and safety parameters. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence and maintaining the highest standards of production within contracted timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence: Drive the site to meet financial and commercial objectives in line with budgets, S&OP, and medium-range plans.
Strategic Leadership: Serve as a Director on the Sri Lanka Joint Venture Board, providing high-level oversight and governance.
Customer Delivery: Ensure the site consistently meets short- and long-term customer needs (Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Satisfaction) while maintaining industry standards.
Efficiency & Optimization: Manage the optimal utilization of production equipment and drive line optimization to hit key performance targets.
Implementation: Deliver the site business plan through Tactical Implementation Plans (TIPs) and SSQCDP work packages, underpinned by our Operational Excellence framework.
Change Management: Lead the adoption of the Future Footprint operating model, including line specialization and strategic redeployment.
Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to operational, quality, and HSE best practices.

Requirements

Experience: Proven leadership experience within a complex manufacturing environment, specifically managing collectively bargained workforces and unionized agreements.
Expertise: Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques; a track record of “making the factory better every day.”
Leadership: Strong influencing and communication skills, with a passion for nurturing talent and building collaborative relationships at all levels.
Commercial Acumen: Exceptional commercial awareness and the ability to balance strategic concepts with granular operational details.
Technical Knowledge: A degree-level education (or equivalent) and a broad understanding of complex manufacturing processes and HS&E policies.
Safety Standards: Qualified to a minimum of IOSH ‘Managing Safely’ level or equivalent.
