Key Accountabilities/Deliverables

As a senior member of the IT Continuity Team:

  • Create, develop, & maintain Disaster Recovery plans to cover in-scope business and IT systems.

  • Create, develop, & maintain Disaster Recovery Test checklists cover specific IT system tests.

  • Support the management & maintenance the annual Disaster Recovery Testing Schedule

  • Maintain the Corporate DR Planning tools such as DRAIP, JIRA and shared docs such as the Team Testing schedule.

  • Create, arrange, manage & deliver physical testing of Disaster Recovery Plans by:

  • Creating and maintain specific/individual test tick sheets.

  • Negotiating & agreeing the specific date/time to run the tests with their App Stakeholders,

  • Creating & progressing formal IT Change Control approvals,

  • Arranging/booking the appropriate test resources,

  • Ensuring pre-Test communications are sent out to the business & IT users.

  • Utilise the required change process to establish authorisations for DR testing.

  • Manage/co-ordinate the resources (human and technical) during the delivery of each DR Test,

  • Gathering & collating DR test results & evidence from their participants.

  • Creating & storing DR Test Reports to evidence the completion of DR tests.

  • Carrying out DR test re-runs if required.

  • Recording, tracking/managing & reporting of post-test actions until their resolution (including accurate maintenance of the Issue Register).

  • Ensuring DR Tests are run in a safe & secure manner e.g. Productions systems are unaffected.

  • NOTE: Testing is carried out mostly on Sundays, but also Saturdays and weekday evenings.

  • Create & maintain site/location/platform/scenario IT Disaster Recovery plans as necessary to support current & future resilience & recovery operations.

  • Produce & provide DR Statistics for management reporting purposes.

  • Assist/support business & IT projects with DR design & process information, delivery advice & pre-go live actions.

  • Escalate identified gaps within the DR environment to the DR Manager.

  • Ensure the junior members of the IT DR team are competent in their work & being utilised effectively.

  • Deputise for the Disaster Recover Manager as required.

  • Comply with AJG Professional Standards Policies in accordance with statutory requirements.

  • Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and Gallagher’s shared values.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers and seniors.

  • Ad hoc tasks as requested by management.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills

Qualifications

  • Member of the BCI, CBCI or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) /DRII.

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English is required.

  • ITIL certifications preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams is essential.

  • have a good understanding of BC/DR industry good practice guidelines that may impact BC/DR deliveries.

  • Working knowledge of ITIL COBIT, or similar recognised frameworks.

Experience

  • Experience of working with BC/DR environments and/or solutions.

  • Demonstrable evidence of working towards set deadlines.

  • Using initiative when dealing with challenges.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively.
