Job description – Microsoft Cloud & Security Engineer

Fortude is looking for a strategic-minded Microsoft Cloud & Security Engineer to join our technical leadership team in Colombo. As we drive large-scale digital transformation for global enterprises, you will be the architect behind secure, resilient cloud environments. We are seeking a professional who balances deep technical expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem with a forward-thinking approach to security and cloud modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, scalable Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions • Lead on-premises to Azure migration and modernization initiatives • Implement and support Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) • Architect and manage Microsoft Entra ID (Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, hybrid identity) • Implement Zero Trust–aligned security architectures using Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Entra security • Provide L3/L4 support, automation (PowerShell), and technical leadership • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams; mentor junior engineers

Required Experience & Skills

• 3+ years hands-on experience with Azure and Microsoft 365 • Strong background in cloud architecture, migration, and enterprise support • Deep expertise in Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD and cloud security • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Mandatory Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
