Job description – Contracts Manager

About the Job:

Al Marwan Group is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager (Pre- and Post-Contract) to play a key role in the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects. From tendering and procurement (pre-contract) to delivery, claims, and project close-out (post-contract), the successful candidate will ensure contractual compliance, mitigate risks, and maximize commercial outcomes while aligning with UAE regulations and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Contract Phase:
• Analyze Invitations to Tender (ITT), RFPs, and client contracts to identify risks and opportunities.
• Support bid teams in strategy development, pricing, and risk evaluation.
• Draft, review, and assist in negotiation of contract terms (FIDIC/NEC/Bespoke).
• Develop subcontractor procurement strategies and agreements in line with project requirements.
• Ensure all pre-contract documentation complies with UAE laws and authority standards.

Post-Contract Phase:
• Administer contract execution, variations, notices, and change orders.
• Support preparation and defense of claims, extensions of time, and disputes.
• Assist in cost and risk management, ensuring contractual compliance and recovery strategies.
• Manage subcontractor agreements, performance, and disputes.
• Maintain contract registers, risk logs, and reporting systems.
• Oversee contract close-out, including final accounts and settlements.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, or related field.
• 8–10 years contract management experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE infrastructure sector.
• Proven expertise in pre- and post-contract stages of large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, rail, utilities, drainage).
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC Red & Yellow Book and UAE-specific adaptations.
• Familiarity with UAE authorities (RTA, DEWA, ADSSC, Etihad Rail, etc.).
• Professional memberships (MRICS, MCIArb) are an advantage.

Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong grasp of contract law, dispute resolution, and negotiation.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Aconex, MS Office, Contract Management Systems, Primavera (for time claims).
• Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.

Desirable Attributes
• Bilingual (English mandatory, Arabic advantageous).
• Experience working with multicultural stakeholders.
• Track record of delivering on major UAE infrastructure contracts.
